Gardening Magazines have a habit of writing about plants and how to grow them but I have never seen gardening, horticulture or farming publication write about this plant in this context. It is most unlikely that you could be alive if this plant did not live in great abundance. Don’t you think you should know something about it? Stick with me, this is about to be corrected! If the magazine authorities approve, there will be a series of articles to help you realize the importance of this plant and the importance it has in the life of you and your family.

The DIATOM is a one-celled plant that is so tiny that it must be magnified thousands of times in order for you to see it. It is in all the waters of the earth, both salt and fresh, and even exists in soil that is moist. This plant is the basic food all aquatic life. In fact, I call it the grass of the sea. The actual existence of all the higher forms of life living n the water, depend on the presence of this plant in vast quantities. Without it, they could not exist. This plant is so plentiful that if they were all bundled up and placed on one end of a giant teeter-totter, and all the land plants, trees, grass, flowers, etc, were placed on the other end, the land plants would be high in the air. In other words, there are far more Diatoms than all land plants combined.

Why is this tiny plant important? I do not know how much fish or other sea food is in your diet, but millions of people around the planet would starve if they did not have access to the fish of the oceans and the lakes. The vast majority of sea animals could not exist if it weren’t for this food supply. This tiny plant, for example, is the basic food of the giant Baleen whale that gets as big as ninety tons of weight. We do not know if the animal even knows the plants exist, he certainly cannot see them. However he opens his huge mouth, takes in a ton of water, filtering out the microscopic plants. The largest animal on Earth owes his existence to the smallest plant on Earth. They are the very basis of his existence. How important are they to you?

It does not matter if you have not known of these plants, or understood their importance, they are absolutely essential to your well being and possibly of your actual existence. I am certain the human race would not exist, at least, as we know it, if these tiny plants did not exist. It has become very important that you gain knowledge of these essential plants, why they are important to you and the entire human race, because mankind is actually endangering his own existence by destroying the most important plant on the planet.
