It was really shocking to have an animal owner call up and say: Did you know that your Anti-Caking agent will cure animals with arthritis? The most likely answer would be: ‘YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING? We would tell them that this product is not a medicine or a drug, that it was just a natural deposit made up of microscopic shells”. It there was such a result then it had to be a coincidence, or something. I can tell you it did not change their mind, but we refused to accept that and certainly did not tell other people about it. We did not believe it!

Dairymen were a problem: They are very professional people. They make their living from their animals and would immediately be aware of any change in their appearance or condition. One called up and told us that he had been using our product for one year and he had made some comparisons in his milk production and costs of operation. It was very interesting. He said that his veterinarian bills had been reduced about 70%, and his cows increased their milk production enough to more than pay the cost of our product. That really shocked me, but I had dealt with him long enough to have a great respect for his knowledge and experience. I knew that he certainly thought he knew what he was talking about.

Then I found a letter from Dr. Phillip Schaible from the University of Michigan. He had been curious about stories he had heard about the benefits of feeding Diatomaceous Earth (DE) to animals. He made a study of the literature in Europe and listed them in a letter to us, listing thirteen benefits from adding DE to Dairy cow diets. Believe me, it was very impressive, and was certain that he considered it to be true.

One of our distributors had been selling to a horse breeder. After he had used the product for several years, he gave an eight page interview telling about his experience with feeding DE. He had a horse that was very highly decorated, and he felt that part of the excellence of the animal was from feeding Fossil Shell Flour to this horse and to every animal of the place, including the house cat. He said that in the blood lines of their horses, there was a certain percentage of colts born either with a slightly deformed hoof, or of having very thin shin bones. This problem went away when the mothers were on DE. This was very impressive and we have the interview in our files but have never used it in our business. It is very awkward, when you know in your own mind that something is true, but that you cannot use it unless you have some University Ph D run tests and then tell you it is true.

A Canadian Professor discovered that DE would stop E-Coli poisoning immediately. People die from this in about 6 days, and they apparently need not even be in much danger, if the medical profession knew about it and had it available. This was published in a national magazine. A Canadian Veterinarian, working with 2000 calves, discovered that with DE in their diet, that calves would not get the serious disease of Scours, in an area rampant with scours.

How can this be. This simple little shell that appears to be absolutely harmless, except to things THAT ARE HARMFUL~
